IRISHMAN in N.Y. Part 1 is the thirty-fifth chapter of the Black Lagoon spinoff series Eda Initial Stage. It was originally released on February 19, 2025.

Somewhere in a neighborhood, a woman hears her doorbell ring and answers the door. She sees a disguised Eda and tests her by uttering the phrase "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death," prompting the agent to respond with "I fear no evil." Satisfied, the woman invites Eda into her residence and points out that Eda lacks an Irish accent, to which she replies that her father's side were immigrants. Accepting her narrative, the woman offers Eda a drink and asks if Michael is okay. Eda claims that he cannot move freely and has to keep a low profile due to a recent major raid. She adds that she was subsequently asked to procure weapons for him, saying she will be in touch. Believing the lie, the woman uses a telephone to call a third party while Eda sits opposite of her.

In an earlier meeting with Jerry Smith and Emily Thompson, Eda angrily shouts that they ran out of time to intercept her enemy, confusing Emily. Brushing it off, the CIA agent tells them to continue, so Emily reminds her that their briefing is a follow-up investigation for the CIA. Emphasizing that the London police's help to the CIA ended after they prevented the terror attack, she advises Eda to listen carefully. Recalling new events, the officer shows a slide of Chloe Reddington, the wife of the Advanced IRA's leader. Emily informs her that the London police tapped her phone and discovered several international calls she made from the United States. She plays one of the recordings of Chloe calling someone to ask them to tell her husband that "the party's ready." With this in mind, Eda notes that the pieces of information indicate an arms deal, causing her to realize that Chloe is the point of contact for the Advanced IRA's procurement of weapons.

Confirming her suspicion, the officer states that Cillian McGrath's Stinger missile smuggling operation was just an exception. Emily adds that no one outside of those involved knows about Connolly's death, including Chloe. Briefing Eda on her next step, she clarifies that they will pose as Connolly's messenger to Chloe and then contact the American smuggling ring by posing as Chloe. Speaking hesitantly, Emily implies that Eda will have to pose as Chloe, irking the CIA agent enough to make her retort that she can handle it. In the present, during Eda's mission of posing as Chloe, Emily and Jerry wait in a van nearby, with Emily wondering if she will be all right. Jerry teases her for her lack of faith, which Emily angrily denies.

At that point, they see Eda returning to the van, and to their surprise she informs them that she got a meeting set up in New York. Scoffing at Emily, Eda states that she has received proper training in negotiations and thus did not have a problem completing her job. Afterward, the three head to an airport for Eda's departure from London. Emily thanks Eda for everything and says she is glad they thwarted the Stinger missile airbase attack and effectively destroyed the Advanced IRA, lauding it as a success. Before bidding the police officers goodbye, Eda claims she has a present for her and puts it in Emily's chest pocket. Pulling out the piece of wrinkled paper, Emily unwraps it and is baffled upon seeing it is Eda's ticket to the interleague game between the Padres and Angels.

Sometime later, back in the U.S., Eda rides in a car with her boss Ravencroft, who commends her for her work and relays to her that they have organized a joint task force involving the FBI, ATF and the NYPD based on her intel. Nonetheless, he specifies that she will be the de facto lead of the investigation and orders her to head to New York. Eda is confused by Ravencroft praising her work in London, prompting him to say she gets the job done whenever she puts her mind to it. Joking that he always initially braces for hearing about a big fuss concerning her missions, he advises Eda to keep it up. Sighing, Eda thinks to herself that she somehow always gets in trouble, causing Ravencroft to ask if she is okay due to her facial expression.

In New York City, Eda enters the meeting with all the men already present. Dent in particular teases her about how they all have to be her knight in shining armor. She asks if they like the idea of a joint investigation, causing Dent to respond that it is awful in reality since they are essentially running errands for the CIA. Continuing his diatribe, he declares they have been following the case for years and accuses Eda of suddenly coming in to steal the glory of stopping the arms trafficking ring. Interrupting him, Kilner of the FBI tells Dent to calm down and reminds him that she was the one who set up the deal to entrap the criminals. As Dent kicks the table in anger, Kilner asks Eda to be understanding of Dent and adds he has been tracking the case for years as well. Breaking the tension, the FBI agent introduces himself and his partner Shannon, also introducing Dent and Hanes as ATF agents and naming the NYPD officers as Cripps, Gunther, Haddock, Latimer and Lawson. Eda introduces herself, so Kilner commences the briefing on the operation.

Showing a map of the deal site, he tells everyone they will be setting up a net around the area. However, he points out that the criminals are not fools since they chose an open factory lot, meaning that relying on sheer number for encirclement is impossible. Consequently, he explains that they have no choice but to follow the targets they have marked after contact. Baffled at the plan, Eda posits that they can just apprehend the suspects on the spot in the event that things shake up. Rhetorically asking her if she was listening, Kilner emphasizes that neither the FBI nor the city police can solely focus on the case due to limited manpower. He proposes that they pinpoint the make and license plate of the enemy cars and then have the police carry out surveillance. Backing down, Eda accepts the plan and remarks she will be counting on them.

Afterward, the agents head to a restaurant, with Eda eating a burger by herself while Kilner and Shannon eat at an adjacent booth. Sitting down opposite of her, Dent says he has something to ask her, but Eda replies that no one asked him to sit down. Annoyed, the frustrated ATF agent asks if he can sit down, and she approves and confirms that she contacted the Advanced IRA in London and arranged the current operation. Dent then inquires if she knows Cillian McGrath, the Advanced IRA's second-in-command involved in the Stinger smuggling operation, which she denies. He explains that he gave the ATF a hard time during their investigation of the weapons smuggling, confessing that he wanted to know what happened to him.

Confused, she asks if that is all he wanted to know, but Dent requests that she hand over the deal negotiations to him. He emphasizes that he has been investigating the criminals for a long time and therefore knows the situation better than she does. He asserts he is confident he can handle things smoothly, but Eda scoffs and rejects the request, stressing that no one else could have gone because she handled the negotiations. The CIA agent rhetorically asks him if it is just common sense and reminds him that he should know better given he indeed has been doing his job longer than hers. Acknowledging her point, Dent admits it was a stupid request, making Eda question his motive given his years-long tracking of the arms traffickers. The ATF agent implies he lost a colleague in the field but asserts he cannot discuss it with the CIA, departing from the restaurant.

Having overheard their conversation, Kilner elaborates to Eda that there has been a rumor that an insider within the city police is involved in trafficking the weapons. The FBI agent reveals that Dent used to be an NYPD officer, reasoning that Dent cannot be at peace knowing that his old group could be tied up in corruption. Eda notes that he seems to know a lot about him, to which Kilner clarifies that the FBI and ATF have been working together for a long time. Eda jokes that her skimming off the top of their hard work definitely makes her CIA. Admitting he is impressed with her work given her youth, he compliments her bravery and professes he can trust her with the negotiations. Humbling herself, Eda claims there is no need for flattery because they are just doing their jobs, causing Kilner to apologize and say he is merely giving his honest opinion, and she departs.

Elsewhere in the restaurant, the five NYPD officers eat together, with an angry Haddock ranting about how the CIA, FBI and ATF only care about being the lead of the investigation as if it were a turf war while leaving the city police in the line of fire. Cripps suggests that he calm down since such behavior is expected, but Haddock tells him to shut up and accuses him of acting like he knows everything. Looking at Latimer, Haddock asks what he thinks of the situation, but the rookie officer replies he is not well versed since he was called in on short notice to make up for their numbers. Recalling that he is from the same branch office as Bartz, Cripps asks him what happened to him. Latimer hesitantly states he was injured during the investigation, so he is currently filling in for him. However, the officer remembers the consequences, particularly when fellow officers at the scene berated him for supposedly not providing proper cover. Latimer also remembers the guilt he felt especially since he was criticized for chickening out when Bartz charged in like a madman, causing him to be insulted as a useless coward. After the event, the newbie spoke with his superior, who assigned him to fill in for Bartz and advised him to keep a low profile and stick to the job in order to avoid dragging their precinct's reputation into the mud. Back in the present, Latimer laments the circumstances leading to his current assignment.

Later at police headquarters before the operation, Eda puts on a leather jacket and lets her hair down to change her appearance. As she exits the room, Dent comes across her and sarcastically jokes she could pass for an IRA terrorist. She tells him to give it a rest, and he brushes it off to immediately confess he needs to discuss something with her. As he briefly whispers, she is confused, making him warn her not to raise her voice. Learning that she knows about the rumor about an insider on the investigation team via Kilner, Dent assesses that it is a process of elimination by concocting inconsistencies in the intel to sift through each officer. Eda responds that he could be the mole too, but he rejects the possibility and is not bothered by her suspecting whomever she wants. Though annoyed, Eda accepts his assessment, and they head to the parking lot. Seeing them arrive, Kilner jokingly asks if they were thawing their tension, reminding Eda that the investigation team will accompany her to the site. Accordingly, the officers depart in civilian vehicles as Eda reluctantly leads the way and mutters that maybe she should have turned down the mission after all. Hanes and Dent depart together, with the latter contemplating how the operation will turn out.
