José (ホセ Hose) was a hitman in Roanapur who was hired alongside Bugsy Lance under the false pretense of killing several renegade gangsters.

José was a young Hispanic man with a skinny build, tan skin, a chin goatee, and long black hair slicked back and styled with an undercut ponytail. He wore a short-sleeved, dark-purple shirt, thin black sunglasses, and dark-colored pants. He also carried a long gun for a weapon.

After some of his friends were killed by Grey Fox, José continued to follow Bugsy Lance that night to track down their enemy. In the manga, he rhetorically asked one of the bounty hunters if they were genuinely obligated to keep going. The man told José to shut up since Bugsy left to straighten out their deal with Bren the Black Death, declaring that they could not let their friends die for nothing. In the anime, José asked the same question to Bugsy, who retorted with the same reply about avenging their dead friends. Running down the street, they came across several FARC fighters, so José and the others began shooting at them and even threw grenades at them. To their confusion, the fighting was suddenly interrupted by Revy and Shenhua's group, who began to respectively shoot and cut the men apart, including José.
