Summer Evening Spooky Story Contest (納涼 怖い話編 Nōryō kowai hanashi-hen) is the sixth Black Lagoon omake. It was originally released in the sixth manga volume on November 17, 2006, and it was later animated and released on the fifth Japanese Blu-ray disk on February 24, 2010.

Plot

Lighting a candle, Hänsel and Gretel announce to Rock, Revy, Balalaika, and Yukio Washimine that they are hosting the first Summer Evening Spooky Story Contest, but Revy responds that it is not even summer yet. In a dark, candlelit room, the six people sit down while Hänsel and Gretel shout that they need to recall the spookiest stories that they know. Smiling, Gretel points to Balalaika and tells her to go first. Calmly thinking, Balalaika states that one time she and her troops were surrounded by the enemy while their supplies were cut off during the Soviet-Afghan War. Feeling awkward, Revy quietly asks her how it is a scary story. Surprised, Balalaika claims that there is nothing more terrifying than when troops are surrounded with supplies cut off. Annoyed, she tells Revy to tell a scarier story. Trying to think of something, the gunslinger recalls that she broke into a residence which turned out to be a police officer's house. Balalaika asks how that is scary, prompting Revy to yell that cops become angry when one of their own gets killed. She adds that she did not get any money and was on the run for months, much to Rock and Balalaika's boredom.

Raising her hand and smiling, Yukio says that she has a better story for everyone, elaborating that she heard it from her friend Maki. Supposedly, Maki's friend stepped into the bathtub and slipped and jammed her toes really hard into the tile floor. Looking at her foot, the girl noticed that her big toe's nail flapped up and down like a toilet lid. Off-put by the story, Balalaika exclaims that Yukio's story is a painful one rather than a scary one. Gretel nonchalantly dismisses the story as well, making Yukio cry. Feeling eerie, Revy advises Gretel to tell her story, which she begrudgingly agrees to. Stating that she heard it from a friend, she explains that a woman with a cat was being stalked and received weird phone calls all the time. One day, the woman got a message stating "Three left" but thought it was just another prank. Some day later, she noticed her cat was walking funny. With evil eyes, Gretel gleefully says that the cat had one leg chopped off. Viewing it as another unscary story, Balalaika says it is not scary while Revy states that she would kill the perpetrator if it was her pet. Pouting, Gretel asks them to at least act creeped out for once. When Rock comments that nothing seems to faze Gretel, everyone dares him to tell a story.

Remarking that it is a boring story that happened to an acquaintance, he says that ever since the person heard a scary story from a friend about a little girl in a red skirt, strange things occurred. Although he ignored it at first, the man got a phone call from the friend that there was a little girl in a red skirt outside his window, hanging up afterward. Going to his friend's house, the man found him dead hanging from a beam. Although the four are a little scared, they tell Rock that it could be scarier, prompting him to clarify that he is not finished. He informs them that everyone who has heard the story has seen a girl in a red skirt at their house within three days, frightening everyone except for Yukio, who smiles at the story. Seeing their expressions, Rock waves his arms and nervously assures them that it is just a story. Scared of the story before she goes to bed, the pajama-clad Balalaika asks Boris to come with her to the bathroom, and the sergeant hesitantly agrees.
