El Baile de la muerte Part 8, also called Chapter 51, is the fifty-second chapter of the Black Lagoon manga. It was originally released in February 2007.
Plot
Finishing the story that the officer told him, Garcia states that the corpse of Simon Dickens, an active-duty U.S. Army officer, was found in the ruins of a burnt-down hotel in Caracas's outskirts, surprising Mister Chang and Dutch. Revy expresses the same surprise toward Roberta's killings and asks Garcia why he has called the Lagoon Company for help, and Fabiola speaks on his behalf that they need to be guided through Roanapur in order to properly find Roberta, specifically seeking out Rock. Saying that it is not about the money, Dutch informs Fabiola that the Lagoon crew will not take the job, explaining that the U.S. military's involvement is enough to dissuade any interference on his. Chang and Revy agree with Dutch's assessment, and Garcia cries that he will not be able to find Roberta without their help. Rejecting his response Revy lambasts the boy for crying and tells him to grow up. As Fabiola snaps back at Revy for raising her voice at Garcia, he tells Fabiola that Revy is right, wiping away his tears and remarking that he will accept the Lagoon Company's rejection.
Rock politely remarks that Garcia has changed since he last saw him, and Garcia agrees, saying that he had to become an adult since his father died. Smiling, Chang asks Rock if that is all he has to say, elaborating that the two children will not be safe in the hotel since the Colombians will want to find them again to find Roberta. When Chang says that such events are not good for the city, Dutch replies that the city is not his concern, asking Chang why he does not simply use the Triad to investigate the matter. Reminding Dutch that the Triad cannot move quickly on such short notice, he clarifies that the Lagoon Company is a neutral party to the conflict who can easily travel through town without escalating tensions.
After Chang points to Rock, the ex-salaryman himself simplifies that the Lovelace children want to find Roberta before she makes contact with the U.S. soldiers. Interrupting them, Benny asks if they have to decide now, and Chang gets up and chimes that they should think about it. Bidding them goodbye, Chang leaves the hotel with Biu Yuyun driving him back to their base. Biu asks if Rock will truly act, and Chang confidently asserts so, declaring that they need to find a safehouse for the two children and that he will contact some people who can counter U.S. soldiers.
In their car, the Lagoon Company sailors wonder about taking the job. Knowing about Rock's curiosity, Dutch informs him that he can take on the job but orders him to quit if things go awry. Rock tries to talk but Dutch warns him that they cannot be concerned about what happens to Garcia and Roberta in the end. The next morning in the Sankan Palace suite, Garcia is antsy to know about the Lagoon Company's response, but Fabiola tells him that she has not heard anything, asking her master if she should check with the front desk again. Garcia states that they cannot just stay at the hotel all day, so Fabiola responds that she can check through town. Opening the door, the young maid is surprised to see Benny and Rock, the latter of which says that he thought it was best to visit in person.
